To celebrate my birthday TODAY, i'm gifting my readers my favorite sources of where to find Inspiring art both local to Georgia and online!

When someone asks me to source art for them, it is a deeply personal experience. I like to "get into my client's head" to understand what they like and why. Art should be selected with feeling in mind. Whenever you are considering bringing a piece of art into your space it should evoke a feeling. Art shouldn't be just something to fill a blank space on a wall. I have seen pieces of art that are still in my mind years later. The pieces that "got away" still live in the recesses of my mind. I hope this list inspires you to visit galleries and/or be more intentional with what you bring into your home.

FAQs

How can I use art to influence my interior design?

My philosophy is to buy what you like and then find a space for it. You can also center a design around a piece of art that you really love. I do that often when starting the concept phase of a project. Every design starts with a piece of inspiration and often that can be a piece of art.

How do I choose art that complements my space?

Choose art that has the same color in the rest of the space, or for contrast choose a piece of art that has contrasting colors to the space it is in so it will be the focal point of the room.

How often should I update or rotate art in my home?

There is no set rule for this. Maybe rotate a few pieces in and out for the holidays but other than that, no need to update unless you get tired of looking at the piece.
